Aim: To analyze and design an automated production process for a steel screw clamp frame. The objective was to apply Lean principles to transition from manual manufacturing to a highly efficient, automated high quality cell manufacturing.
What we did: We conducted a comprehensive value stream analysis and designed a cell layout using RobotStudio. We integrated key industrial software systems, including ERP for resource planning and MES for real-time execution. Additionally, we implemented lean methodologies such as the 5S system and Jidoka for autonomous quality control in the production environment.
What we learnt: The report indicated that automation significantly reduces production times and eliminates human error in repetitive tasks. We also found that statistical tools, such as Pearson correlation, indicate that implementation and workplace organization drive significant increases in output.
